Allentown Hiking Club (AHC) is turning 86 years old. We’re going to celebrate by hosting a number of hikes on portions of the Appalachian Trail maintained by the club. You can choose a hike from a number of events listed on our website or a corresponding posting on Meetup for this same day. On this particular hike, We will meet at noon at Blue Mountain Summit Restaurant. We’ll shuttle to Bake Oven Rd - AT Parking Lot and hike along the AT back to our cars parked at the restaurant. We will enjoy the views at Bear Rocks and climb some challenging rocks over Knife's Edge. This section is very rocky and is NOT for beginners. We’ll be doing this hike at a 1.5-2.0 mph avg pace (that’s with breaks), finishing in time for the 4:30pm party. This is a shuttle hike, so please be prepared to drive people in your car if asked by the hike leader. After the hike, many of us will be going to Blue Mountain Summit Restaurant for dinner and a party. Details for this event are listed in a separate posting on this website and on Meetup.
