Allentown and Bach
Explore downtown Allentown and enjoy a Bach at Noon concert
Meet at Trout Hall (S. 4th and Walnut St.) to start our walk around downtown Allentown. The city has just laid out a 2 mile walking route, which we will follow; we will also venture further onto other streets to see more of the downtown development and sights. We will plan to be at St. John's Lutheran Church on S. 5th St.. between Hamilton and Walnut, at 11:30 to get balcony seats for the concert. The church is air-conditioned. The program will include Johann Sebastian Bach's Concerto in C Major for Two Keyboards, BWV 1061, Cantata 180 – Schmücke dich, o liebe Seele, and Johannes Brahms' Motet from A German Requiem, How lovely is Thy dwelling. Bring snacks (if desired) and plenty of water. Steady rain on morning of event will cancel the hike portion, but we will meet at 11:30 at the church for the concert.
