This is a 2 mile hike with some bushwacking on the AT trail. We will learn about the charcoal region and see it through the eyes of an archaeologist

The hike is designed to highlight the charcoal industry of the Blue mountains. It will be lead by one of the AHC leaders and Ben Carter, who is a archaeologist from Muhlenberg College. This is a B+ rated hike. Please bring 1-2 bottles of water, a lite snack and a good pair of hiking boots/shoes. DUE TO THE LACK OF PARKING SPACES AT THE LOCATION, WE ARE MEETING AT THE LEHIGH GAP NATURE CENTER (8844 Paint Mill Rd · Slatington, PA) AND WILL CARPOOL FROM THERE. LOOK FOR MY BLACK MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER.
