For those of us who need some easy walking to get back in shape... we will start on the walking path around the park loop (about 3/4 mile) and then the ballfield next to the Quakertown Park (almost 2 miles). You can do either loop or both depending on how much you want to do. See below for meeting location.

Loop hike through the Nolde Forest

Nolde Forest encompasses more than 665 acres of deciduous woodlands and coniferous plantations. A network of trails makes the center’s streams, ponds, and diverse habitats accessible to all. We will hike most of the trails that wander throughout the park under tall trees and near creeks. Some trails are footpaths and others are remnants of gravel roads used by original owners of the mansion. We will stop at the Mansion to check out its unique architecture. Sturdy hiking boots are recommended. Bring at least 2L of water and lunch / snacks. Heavy rain cancels. Meeting place: To my knowledge there is no street address for this parking lot. This parking lot is on Route 625 just a few miles south of the intersection with Route 724. You can refer to the link with the trail map and the Sawmill parking lot is very clearly marked.

Leaving from the Mill Creek Road parking lot, this is a 5.5 mile loop hike on hillside slopes and hilltop meadows in the North Range of Trexler Nature Preserve with about 820 feet elevation gain.

We will hike a number of trails on hillside slopes and hilltop meadows on this loop hike, accumulating about 820 feet of elevation gain. Wild flowers should be plentiful on the hilltop. Sturdy hiking boots are recommended. Bring at least a liter of water and food/snacks. No pets and no politics please. Rain cancels.

Great workout with Great Views

Trail is well maintained and offers great views of Delaware Water Gap. The trail includes steep climbs and descents, with the first 2 miles being particularly challenging. Weather cancels hike and hikers should bring snacks, lunch and lots of fluids.

Maintenance Hike in the am, Picnic in the pm

Bring gloves, water, snack, hiking boots. Bring small hand saws or clippers if you have them, otherwise tools provided. We will pick up trash, use walk behind weed wacker, remove branches from trail, trim briers, check Shelter. Then, meet at 1pm for picnic at Leaser Lake - North Ramp. Bring a dish to share. Hot dogs provided.
