Allentown Walk and Bach at Noon oncertExplore colonial and Revolutionary Allentown and enjoy a Bach at Noon concert.
Meet at Trout Hall at 4th and Walnut Streets in Allentown. Next year is the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, so as we walk the original streets laid out by William Allen in 1762, we will explore the colonial village and its role during the Revolution as well as view the current redevelopment activity. This walk is on city sidewalks with stops to look at our surroundings. We will end our walk at St. John's Lutheran Church on S. 5th St. for the Bach At Noon concert. The concert is free, but donations are appreciated. Bring water and snacks. Rain on the morning of the even cancels the walk portion, but anyone interested in the concert can meet at the church at 11:50 a.m.

Easy Weeknight Walk - 2 +/- milesLet's take a leisurely stroll around the park ~
For those of us who need some easy walking to get back in shape... we will start on the walking path around the park loop (about 3/4 mile) and then the ballfield next to the Quakertown Park (almost 2 miles). You can do either loop or both depending on how much you want to do.

CANCELED- Jim Gabovitz 3rd Annual Memorial Whip-Poor-Will Hike under the Full Strawberry Moon (5-6 miles)CANCELED - Point to point hike starting from the Osprey House and finishing at Translater Lane.
This is an evening trek where will hike a series of trails throughout Lehigh Gap Nature Center property... LNE Trail, Prairie Grass Trail, Charcoal Trail, Appalachian Trail up to a grouping of cell towers where we will wait for sunset before descending Translater Lane. Total elevation gain will be approximately 1,200'. At the towers we will wait for dark and listen for the calls of the Whip-Poor-Will on our way back down. We will be hiking in the dark on the descent so a flashlight or headlamp is essential. Please bring snacks, water, and wear sturdy hiking boots. Trekking poles are recommended as the area we will be hiking is steep and rocky. Steady rain cancels. |

Wind Gap to Fox Gap (Point to Point) 8.5 miles(Rain Date: Sunday, June 22)
A rocky challenging hike that starts at Wind Gap and ends at the trailhead just north of Bangor. The trail is steep at parts as it climbs up Blue Mountain so wear sturdy boots. This is a point-to-point hike so all hikers need to confirm attendance with hike leader so transportation can be coordinated. Hikers should bring snacks, lunch and lots of fluids. Loop hike at Tuscarora State Park (7-8 miles)7-8 mile loop hike around Tuscarora Lake
This is a loop hike around the lake at Tuscarora State Park. There are some minor climbs and while the trails are sometimes rocky and heavily rooted, the trails are well maintained. There are some stream crossings and several areas are likely to be muddy. Please bring 2+ liters of water and lunch/snacks and wear sturdy hiking boots.
