Loop hike to the Pulpit and Pinnacle
This is a loop hike, starting at the Hamburg Reservoir parking lot, first climbing to Pulpit Rock and then onward to the Pinnacle for spectacular views of the Lehigh Valley from both locations. This is not a beginner's hike due to the 1000' ascent and very rocky terrain. If there is snow on the ground, microspikes or other traction devices will be mandatory. As it is dark now, please wear bright clothing and/or bring a flashlight. Meet in the parking lot behind the Eagle/Local. Nolde Forest Loop Hike (12 miles)
Loop hike through the Nolde Forest
Nolde Forest encompasses more than 665 acres of deciduous woodlands and coniferous plantations. A network of trails makes the center’s streams, ponds, and diverse habitats accessible to all. We will hike most of the trails that wander throughout the park under tall trees and near creeks. Some trails are footpaths and others are remnants of gravel roads used by original owners of the mansion. We will stop at the Mansion to check out its unique architecture. Sturdy hiking boots are recommended. Bring at least 2L of water and lunch / snacks. Heavy rain or snow cancels. Trail map can be found here: http://www.docs.dcnr.pa.gov/cs/groups/public/documents/document/dcnr_003596.pdf

Walk on the Lowline Rail Trail + Camping
Bring brunch money. Real interesting Hike
The primary plan is to go to Intercourse, PA Fire company for breakfast on Sat. Then go to Glen Brendles' Farm for a 1/2 hour tour. (He's a "well-oiled" machine according to GRIT Magazine in the Sept '16 issue). Then walk the "Low Line Rail Trail" to Rte.41 and back to Mt. Vernon Road.

We can either camp at Hibernia County park which is 15-20 minutes N.E. (Coatesville). (I always carry an extra pup tent in case I end up in the doghouse....again!) If camping is not your style, you can stay at the Olde Stone Guest House near Coatesville (Bed & Breakfasts of the Brandywine Valley, www.bvbb.com.)
On Sunday morning we'll go to the Gap Diner along Rte 30 and hike the "Lowline Railtrail" from Rte 41 to Rte 896 and back. This will be a bit longer than Saturday's walk.

You MUST contact the leaders for this hike as it entails carpooling and camping and/or guest house arrangements.
