Join us for a late afternoon/evening Tuesday walk upon the Saucon/Upper Bucks Rail Trail.

We’ll start at the Southern Lehigh Living Memorial Park on Landis St in Coopersburg. After introductions we’ll walk a short distance to the trailhead and head south on the Saucon Rail Trail. . We should have enough time to do about 2.5 miles and then return for a total of about 5 miles.We will probably overlap some of the trail we did on last weeks’ walk.

Please be on time! We need to be out of the park at sunset.

Afterwards we can go to the Inside Scoop Ice Cream Shop, which is strategically placed nearby, to replace any lost calories !

Join us for a Saturday scenic 7 mile walk on the Delaware and Lehigh trail from Sand Island in Bethlehem to Freemansburg.

On this walk the D&L trail has views of the Lehigh River and the historical Bethlehem Steel site. There are a couple of canal locks along the way and also remnants of a wing dam. In Freemansburg, the walk reaches the Freemansburg Canal Education Center in the historic mule barn. This is the site of Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor hosts field trips about life as a canal locktender family. We’ll stop there, have lunch and return.

Public bathroom availability is uncertain, so be prepared…
Please bring water, snack and lunch. Dress for the weather....

We should have enough time to do about 2.5 miles out and then return for a total of about 5 miles.. This will a continuation of our walks on this trail. This is a large township park with plenty of parking. After introductions we’ll head north on the Saucon Rail Trail. . We should have enough time to do about 2.5 miles out and then return for a total of about 5 miles.. Bring a bottle of water and snack as needed. We should finish about sunset.

This another in our series of easy and scenic weekday evening walks on the Saucon Rail Trail.

After introductions we’ll walk a short distance to the trailhead and head south on the Saucon Rail Trail. . We should have enough time to do about 2.5 miles out and then return for a total of about 5 miles.. We should finish about dusk. There are a number of interesting sites on this walk. We will walk by the Wagner-Knecht Grist Mill Park, a refurbished Railroad Signal, Old Mill Rd (on which a nearby grist mill operated until 1959), the Reading Drive Trailhead and probably reach Spring Valley Rd before turning around. There are also several scenic views of the Saucon Creek. Please RSVP. It is important the walk starts on time so we finish by dusk.
