End the year with a hike on the Appalachian Trail!

PLEASE WEAR BLAZE ORANGE AS WE WILL BE ON STATE GAME LANDS AND SHARING THAT SPACE WITH HUNTERS. We will meet at Rt. 309 for a 4 mile hike to the Allentown Shelter. At the shelter we will eat lunch before returning to our cars. We will enjoy snacks and friendship at the shelter so feel free to bring a snack or goodies to share around the shelter's picnic table. After a suitable time for socializing, we will hike 4 miles back to our cars. Anyone who would like a shorter 2 mile hike to the Shelter may join us at Fort Franklin Road and that hike is listed separately in the schedule. Since we will be spending time at the shelter, bring an extra layer of clothing to stay warm. No dogs or alcoholic beverages. Steady rain or snow on the morning of the hike cancels this event.

This will be the 48th year that the club will visit our shelter on New Year's Eve. Meet at Fort Franklin Rd. at 11 AM for the 2 mile walk to the shelter. We will eat lunch at the shelter and then walk back to our cars. For those who wish to do so, bring a snack item or goodie for the picnic table to share with others. NOTE: Wear blaze orange since we will be walking on State Game Lands. Bring lunch, water, and an extra layer of clothing to stay warm at the shelter. No dogs or alcoholic beverages. Steady rain or snow on morning of hike cancels this event.

Event cancelled due to heavy rain and wind - Enjoy a winter walk and Bach concert.

Meet at the Illick's Mill parking lot at 100 Illick's Mill Rd. in Bethlehem where we will begin our 2 mile walk on the Monocacy Trail to the Central Moravian Church (73 W. Church St.) for a Bach at Noon concert. The concert is free, but voluntary donations are appreciated. After the concert, we will stop at a picnic table along the Monocacy Creek for lunch and then walk back to our cars. The Monocacy Trail is flat and has a good walking surface (paved, gravel, grass). Steady rain or snow or icy conditions on the morning of the event will cancel the hike portion of this event, but participants can meet in the balcony of the church for the concert. Bring lunch and water.

Loop hike through the rolling hills of the Bryn Coed Preserve

We will be hiking through open fields and woods in this 500-acre former farm that has been preserved by Natural Lands Trust. The preserve includes a Pennsylvania Champion white oak, the headwaters of the Pickering Creek, and several Bald Eagle nesting spots. Terrain is mostly flat, mostly sunny with periods of shade and can sometimes be muddy so wearing hiking boots is recommended. Bring lunch/snacks and water. Steady rain or snow cancels.

A roundtrip 8-mile night hike to Dan's Pulpit.

Let’s celebrate the Wolf Moon with a roundtrip 8-mile night hike to Dan's Pulpit. We are starting at 4pm from the parking lot at PA Game Commission in Kempton, PA. The hike is considered to be a moderate hike. Required: warm clothes, snacks or dinner, headlamps and a great attitude.
