An urban walk and Bach concert

Meet at Trout Hall at S. 4th and Walnut Street. We will walk around the streets of Allentown, ending at St. John's Lutheran Church for the Bach concert. The concert is free, but donations are appreciated. The church is air conditioned. Bring water and snacks for the walk. Steady rain or excessive heat about 90 degrees t the start of the walk will cancel the walk portion of the event. Participants can meet at 11:30 at St. John's (37 S. 5th St.) for the concert.

Loop hike around the Green Lane Reservoir.

This loop hike will circle the Green Lane Reservoir, affording views of both the lake and countryside. There will be several short climbs and stream crossings. Sturdy hiking boots are recommended. Bring a least 2L of water and lunch / snacks. Steady rain cancels.

Let's watch the Super Blue Full Moon rise from the Pinnacle!

Please arrive by 4:15pm for a prompt 4:30pm departure. Come and watch the Super Blue Full Moon rise from the Pinnacle. This is a 9 mile loop hike, starting at the Hamburg Reservoir parking lot and then going up to the Pulpit and Pinnacle for spectacular views of the rising full moon. Sunset is at 7:39pm and moonrise is at 7:52pm. This is not a beginner's hike due to the ~1000' ascent, rocky terrain and nighttime conditions. Sturdy hiking boots and trekking poles are recommended. Bring a headlamp or flashlight, at least 2 liters of water and food/snacks. Rain or cloudy conditions may cancel.

A baseball outing with the Keystone Trails Association at the Lancaster Barnstormers.

What a great way to support the Keystone Trails Association plus enjoy an evening of baseball! The KTA has a block of tickets reserved for this event in Section 13, right behind the home team dugout! Allentown Hiking Club members are responsible for purchasing their own ticket(s). Please reach out to Paula if you are interested in carpooling. Let's take a leisurely stroll around the park ~

Let's take a stroll around the park ~ For those of us who need some easy walking to get back in shape... we will take a walk around the ballfield next to the Quakertown Park at 4th and then around the walking path in the park. Two plus/minus miles depending on how much you want to do. The ballfield is about a mile and a half and you can head to your car or continue around the park to double that amount. Possible drive/walk to the Trolley Barn afterwards.

Meeting place: Quakertown Park at 4th (the park with the amphitheater); Mill Street, Quakertown PA (behind the Quakertown library.) Parking is getting challenging as weather is getting nicer. Let's meet in the parking lot next to the library lot. Turn into the library and park in the far lot by the big electric grid building. Bathrooms available in library.
