Join us for a great day on the trail as we hike to a massively long Boulder Field that not many people know exists. We’ll take fire roads until we get close to it, and then have to go off trail / bushwhack to the eastern edge a field. This field is just one of several fields that make up almost a 2 miles long chain of a geographic feature that you must see to believe. At the end of the this chain there’s a couple hundred feet climb up a rock field until we get back onto the fire roads and wooded trails back to our cars. Expect about 3-4 miles of this hike (out of an overall 10 miles total) to be off trail.

This hike is for Adventurous Hikers Only. We will be keeping the group together throughout the day. Thus it’s important that your able to comfortably hike at a 3.0 mph on hilly wooded trails (obviously, we’ll only go as safely possible while on the boulder fields). There are more details, and pictures of our previous hike to this area on Meetup. This will be one of two hikes in the same location. We’re going to break them up in case there are people who just want to do one hike over the other. But hope to see you on both hikes.
