(Cancelled) Eagle’s Nest via Sand Spring & Tom Lowe Trails Loop (Updated)Cancelled. To be Rescheduled in near future.
(Cancelled) The 9.4 mile hike begins at the PA State Game Lands 110 parking lot on Northkill Road and follows a game lands service road before transitioning onto the Sand Spring Trail (blue blazes), crossing Northkill Creek and climbing steadily alongside a stream to the historic rock-walled Sand Spring and the junction with the Tom Lowe Trail. The route then briefly joins the Appalachian Trail, traversing rocky terrain and game commission burn areas, before turning onto the Eagles Nest Trail and reaching the Eagles Nest lookout about a mile later.
The return follows the Tom Lowe Trail (orange blazes), descending steeply from the ridge, crossing several streams—including a wooden bridge near mile eight—and following Northkill Creek back to the parking area. Expect rocky footing in places.
Come prepared with sturdy footwear, snacks, lunch, and plenty of fluids; the hike will be canceled in the event of adverse weather.

Pulpit-Pinnacle-Haha Hike (Pinnacles Birthday Hike)Loop Hike with scenic views
This hike will begin will begin with an approximately 1000' elevation gain up to the top of the ridge, a trek along the ridge with sweeping vistas, and part of the AT. Terrain is often rocky and uneven with significant elevation change, and there is a good possibility of encountering snow/ice on the trail. Participants must have traction devices with them in case they are needed and should be able to handle the distance, elevation, and uneven trail conditions. Sturdy footwear is required and trekking poles may be helpful. Bring proper hydration, snacks, and a trail lunch and dress in layers. We will have a lunch/celebration stop along the way so it would be good to have an extra layer to use to keep warm while we are stopped if needed.
This hike will be canceled if adverse weather is predicted that day.

Lehigh Gap Loop HikeLoop around Lehigh Gap Nature Center with views
This hike will depart from the environmental center and head north along the Lehigh River to the Three Ponds Loop. From there we will climb partway up the ridge and follow a few other trails for a bit. Eventually we will take either the Charcoal Trail back down to the LNE Trail or further UP to join the AT for a short time and descend back to parking via the AT, passing the Underbridge Shelter as we do. We will have scenic views of the Lehigh Gap and Lehigh River along our way.
This hike will traverse some gravel trail, some lowlands trail around the ponds which could be muddy in spots, and some rocky terrain (how much of this depends on our route back to parking). If it is a windy day, it will be even windier in the gap as we are very exposed during parts of this trek. Wear hiking shoes with good grip. Bring a snack and hydration.
Rainy weather or slippery conditions will cancel this hike.
