This scenic, point-to-point adventure offers impressive views as we descend toward the river, ending at the legendary Doyle Hotel—a familiar landmark in Appalachian Trail lore.

We will be meeting at the Doyle Hotel and volunteers will shuttle hikers back to the Cove Mountain Parking Lot in Marysville.

After the hike, join fellow hikers for an optional late lunch and a chance to relax and swap trail stories.

Expect very rocky footing; sturdy hiking footwear is essential. Bring snacks, a trail lunch, and plenty of water to stay fueled and hydrated along the way. The hike will be canceled in the event of inclement weather.

Join us to hike for about 2.5 hours around historic Bethlehem enjoying the decorations and lights for the holidays.  Dress for the weather and bring water.  A flashlight can be useful in some of the areaswhere the street trees have made the sidewalks uneven.

The website indicates that parking is available on Grammes Road, which is behind the Queen City Airport. Let's meet in front of Ferguson Selection Center (1818 Grammes Road) and from there we can continue as a group through the Lehigh Parkway. I'll be wearing a string of lights so you can more easily find me.

I'm expecting it to be crowded with traffic so plan to arrive early so we can gather and leave on foot by 5:30. A flashlight or headlamp is suggested for the walk from our cars to and from the Holiday Lights.

We will meet at the PA State Game Lands parking lot on Route 309 for a 4 mile hike to the Allentown Shelter. At the shelter we will enjoy snacks and friendship, so feel free to bring goodies to share around the shelter's picnic table. After a suitable time for socializing, we will hike 4 miles back to our cars. Since we will be spending time at the shelter, bring an extra layer of clothing to stay warm. No dogs or alcoholic beverages. Steady rain or snow on the morning of the hike cancels this event.
